DESERT DAGGER / IZOTE DE DESIERTO

The original names for Joshua Tree include Humwichawa from the Cahuilla people & Izote de Desierto in Spanish, meaning "Desert Dagger." Reclaiming the name in its honor are 3 artists: Leonard Harmon (Lenape Tribe of New Jersey & Nanticoke Tribe of Delaware), Carlos Ramirez (Indio), & Michael Hurst (Cincinatti).
